Home Educator Deep Dive Workshop

On the last term-time Wednesday of every month (events depending), we will be delivering an Ocean-themed workshop for children who are keen to learn more about our wonderful blue planet! Each workshop has been designed with national curriculum links, as well as a strong focus on conservation and current marine issues. The workshops will be delivered at 1pm, and last one and half hours. 

Please see below for a summary of our workshops:

  • 30th Sept: Underwater Evolution - Evolve your own species and see if it will survive modern times for 8-11s
  • 21st Oct: Ocean Artist - Develop different artistic techniques with the NMA inhabitants as your muse for 5+
  • 25th Nov:  Energy Investigators - Understanding the cause and effect of climate change for 9-12's
  • 23rd Dec: Shark Hoist - Work in groups to create a winch system to lift a hammerhed shark for 7-14's
  • 27th Jan: Blue Mind Creatives - A relaxing craft workshop exploring our personal connections to the Ocean for 5+
  • 24th Feb: Inventafish - An adaptation inspired craft workshop designed for 7-11's
  • 24th March - Pollution Solution - This workshop looks at our waste from source to sea for  8-11's
  • 28th April: Senses in the Sea - A sensory workshop with Ocean treasures and storytelling for 4-7's
  • 26th May: Rediscover Rockpooling - Let's explore our local blue space! Suitable for all ages. **This workshop will take place at 14:00 from Mt Batten Beach - You must make your own way to the beach.
