About the Experience:

There is lots to see behind the scenes of the UK’s largest Aquarium. Discover undisclosed areas with our un-forgettable Behind the Scenes at The Aquarium tour experience. Discover how our world class animal husbandry and engineering teams look after 5000 marine animals keeping them happy and healthy, plus how we manage moving millions of litres of water. 

Learn about food preparation, keeping the tank water clean in our many exhibits big and small, the daily tasks of a biologist, animal health treatments from our team and vets and so much more.

• The digital gift voucher will be sent instantaneously to an email address of your choice (either yours or the recipients).
• This voucher is valid for 12-months from the date of purchase and can be redeemed by the person receiving the gift ticket through our website, they will need to select the day and time they wish to attend the experience and then input the 16-digit gift voucher code when they checkout.
• Due to planned postal strikes some physical gift vouchers may arrive later than stated.

This voucher is available as a physical voucher which will be sent to you in the post. The physical voucher comes in a beautifully designed A5 greetings card. 

The physical voucher costs £3.50 for P+P.

Terms and conditions

• Tours currently run from 11:00-12:00, and 14:00-15:00 (Only on weekends)
• Minimum age to take part in this tour is 8 years old. No babies or toddlers in pushchairs or being carried will be permitted on the tour.
• These tours are not suitable for those who are pregnant or are immunocompromised.*
• Please be aware due to the nature of our behind the scenes areas, step access is required to reach the top of our exhibits.*
• Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 16 or over.
•  Aquarium staff are not responsible for children during the tour. 
• You must have a valid Aquarium entrance ticket to participate in the tour.
• Tour times are strictly adhered to. If you arrive late you will not be permitted to join the tour.
• Please note, this tour focuses on the work that our husbandry team do to care for all of our animals. As a result, there may be some discussions around sensitive subjects such as animal post mortems and operations, which including artefacts and photos.
• We reserve the right to stop the tour at any point without refund.
• We reserve the right to cancel any tour with refund.
• We reserve the right to alter our tour route.
• Due to the time in which our experience takes place, we highly recommend that you eat prior to the tour, as there are limited opportunities for rest, and a considerable amount of standing.
