The Lights of Plymouth Sound Workshop & CPD
This 90-minute Key Stage Two workshop will combine science, history, PE and careers.
Using the history of lighthouses in Plymouth, your students will explore the development of electricity generation over time, build their own circuits, discuss the use of renewable energy sources, and think about what their futures may look like in the countries first ever National marine Park!
Resources will be given to the school so the workshop can be repeated by yourselves for other classes and for years to come.
After the workshop, a member of the OCT education team will spend an hour with your teachers in a bespoke Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session about bringing the ocean into the classroom. Your CPD will provide ideas and practical advise on how and why blue education can be incorporated into the existing curriculum.
If none of the slots available are suitable, please email learning@oceanconservationtrust.org and we will try and fit you in!
